America’s Second Harvest – The Nation's Food Bank Network, surveyed 180 food banks nationwide to determine the impact the economic downturn is having on food banks and agencies, including soup kitchens and food pantries. Nationally, our food banks are reporting a 15-20 % increase on average in the number of people turning to them for help now compared to one year ago.
