Eric Leventhal Elected to Board of America's Second Harvest

CHICAGO, IL --- June 20, 2005 --- Eric Leventhal, President and General Manager of Evian North America, has been elected to the board of directors of America's Second Harvest – The Nation's Food Bank Network, the nation's largest charitable hunger-relief organization.

His extensive experience with multinational food and beverage companies will be a tremendous asset to our organization," said Robert Forney, President and Chief Executive Officer of America's Second Harvest. "Mr. Leventhal has long been committed to helping end hunger in America." 

The board of directors of America's Second Harvest oversees the operations, activities and mission of the organization, which has more than 200 food banks and food rescue organizations from around the country in its membership.

Mr. Leventhal has been affiliated with Groupe Danone, the parent company of Evian North America, since 2000.  In his previous role as SVP Marketing at The Dannon Company, Mr. Leventhal led several hunger-awareness programs, in addition to having previously served on the Board of Directors of FoodPATCH, a food bank in Westchester, New York. He has previously held positions with Campbell Soup, Coca-Cola and Kraft Foods. Mr. Leventhal has a B.A. from Tufts University and an MBA from Columbia Business School.

America's Second Harvest—The Nation's Food Bank Network is the nation's largest charitable hunger-relief organization with a Network of more than 200 regional member food banks and food-rescue programs serving all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. The America's Second Harvest Network secures and distributes nearly two billion pounds of donated food and grocery products annually. The America's Second Harvest Network supports approximately 50,000 local charitable agencies operating more than 94,000 programs including food pantries, soup kitchens, emergency shelters, after-school programs, and Kids Cafes.
